Salt in the wound I thought it had healed Salt in the wound I thought it had healed You walked out on me you left no trace And I asked around if any had seen your face Then one day out of the blue My phone started ringing and it was you Salt in the wound I thought it had healed A slap in the face from a far distant place Salt in the wound I thought it had healed Somebody fetch me water Somebody fetch me water When you called I was so surprised I hadn't heard from you in a long, long time "Do you still have that shirt I left?" Man, are you for real? This is what I said "Damn, I'm thirsty! My mouth is dry 'Cause you left and didn't say why Now you show up after all these years And I'm still crying" Salt in the wound I thought it had healed A slap in the face from a far distant place Salt in the wound I thought it had healed Somebody fetch me Somebody fetch me Somebody fetch me Water

I went down to the beach I had my coffee on the way I sat down in the warm sand And I told the ocean your name I dare not tell my friends Of how I feel for you It's just so complicated So I told the ocean your name At sunrise and sunset You're all my heart talks about And I can't hold all of this inside So I told the ocean your name The ocean knows I think about you A little more than I should But she won't say a word I'm sitting here wondering Skipping shells into the sea It's just so complicated Do you tell the ocean my name? At sunrise and sunset You're all my heart talks about And I can't hold all of this inside So I told the ocean your name Your name I went down to the beach I had my coffee on the way I sat down in the warm sand And I told the ocean your name

Saudade 03:30
Ola, sou eh? Are you there? Can you hear me whisper your name? The wind caresses the leaves on the trees The curls of my hair Is this the end of our affair? Saudade the love that remains Saudade my nostalgia in chains Imprisoned by my longing, captive to the end Saudade my love, saudade my friend After the show in the cool night air If I listen, I can still hear the band We had out dreams, baby you and I Why couldn't out love survive the tests of time? Saudade the love that remains Saudade my nostalgia in chains Imprisoned by my longing, captive to the end Saudade my love, saudade my friend saudade my friend saudade my friend

Holding back That's what we do when we get here I know it hurts That it can never be But, baby, don't hide yourself from me Just be with whenever you can Just be with me however you can Like a lover as a friend Just be with me Just be with me Stolen looks and secret smiles Only last a little while Walks in the dark, kisses in the dark of night But breaks at dawn In this hour, in the day We share moments of pleasure So powerful, so delicious Time is so precious Just be with whenever you can Just be with me however you can Like a lover as a friend Just be with me Just be with me I know you can't leave her But I'll give you what you need But it cuts me to the bone That she has you instead of me Stolen looks and secret smiles Only last a little while Walks in the dark, kisses in the dark of night But breaks at dawn Stolen looks and secret smiles Only last a little while Walks in the dark, kisses in the dark of night But breaks at dawn Stolen looks and secret smiles Only last a little while Walks in the dark, kisses in the dark of night But breaks at dawn Just be with me Just be with me Just be with me however you can Just be with me

Poor little rich girl You're running down the street in your Lexus Looking everywhere to get your fix Well, I got something to tell you It's nothing but plastic happiness Don't matter how much money you got You can't buy happiness in a pill or in a box Spend your life putting on a display Your 2.4 kids and a yacht out on the bay Poor little rich girl You're running down the street in your Lexus Looking everywhere to get your fix Well, I got something to tell you It's nothing but plastic happiness Spitz of Jo Malone, bags of Chanel Ray Ban sunglasses, you know me so well 10 carat diamond rings, you always liked the fancy things But then the payment has come due Poor little rich girl You're running down the street in your Lexus Looking everywhere to get your fix Well, I got something to tell you It's nothing but plastic happiness All the bar tabs you've run, all those designer shoes They won't complete you Behind the scenes the wood was rotting Never mind, just keep shopping Poor little rich girl You're running down the street in your Lexus Looking everywhere to get your fix Well, I got something to tell you It's nothing but plastic happiness
